Precious' Family of Friends
Taken from the movie, this is a group photograph with Precious(middle) and her friends she has made at Each One Teach One, Alternative School.
This photograph was selected because Precious considers her classmate friends more of a family than her actual Mother and Father.
Future Family
Precious states that she wont make the same mistakes her parents did and wants to cherish her own children by giving them a better life than she had. She believes that she can create a happy family.
This photograph was selected to represent Precious' vision of the future she pushes so hard for.

Hiding From Mommy and Daddy
As a child, Precious was raped by her Father, Carl Kenwood Jones. Precious' mother, Mary Lee Johnston, began to feel jealous because Carl spent more time with Precious than with her. As a result of this rape, Mary began to abusively beat Precious and even sexually assaulted Precious herself.
This photograph was selected to show Precious' fear of her own Mother and Father.
